Setting A New Standard in Tread Strength and Quality

Engineered Composite Wood for Stair Treads and Risers

Unlike boards from solid wood, plywood, particleboard, MDF or HDF, our CompoWood tm Composite Wood is a structural board that is engineered for specific performance characteristics.
  • Precisely cut wood strips are mixed with newly developed space-age binders and structured in a four layer process with two core layers perpendicular to two surface layers.
  • The board is then cured under intense heat and pressure to form an irreversible bond between the strips.
This manufacturing process eliminates knotholes, voids, splits and their related problems.  This combination of engineered design and manufacturing process gives the board it's inherent strength, stiffness and durability.
